When I go on a trip, sometimes I like to bring a disposable camera. They take forever to develop now- gone are the days of one-hour photo. More like three-week photo.

Anyway, here are my grainy, washed-out film photos from Howard Days this year!

Last year when I went to Texas, I wrote something up for it. But this time I figured I would just make a video of the experience. Travel with me here to my first (but certainly not last) Howard Days!

Presenting at the Glenn Lord Symposium was the highlight of my week.

My new compatriot Lion from Sword & Sorcery Book Club put together his own video here:

Dog brother Evan from Stygian Dogs also has begun putting up a bunch of stuff over on his channel, too! Whereas Lion and I both did a single package video, he's posting stuff in bits, so watch his work!

Below are some photos from the week!

The annual REH Awards have been announced by the Robert E. Howard Foundation down in Texas!

There are some incredible people on this list: Liam Sharp has been nominated for his Savage Sword issue "Tattered Wings," Jeff Shanks for his Scourge of the Serpent series of essays, Jim Zub et al. for the Scourge of the Serpent mini-series, Molly Tanzer for her new Jirel of Joiry work, a truckload of the Heroic Legends series authors, and even Roy Thomas!

It's like a who's-who of online creators as well, with names like Stygian Dogs, Michael K. Vaughn, and Sword & Sorcery Book Club!

Someone even nominated me for my blog and YouTube channel, so thanks so much! Awards are handed out at Howard Days in Texas this year, and I'll be going!

Wow! I've been nominated for a Robert E. Howard Foundation award for 2025 because of my work on this blog since last summer. Thank you to whoever may have nominated me!

It's been really fun to log all my Conan reading on here, getting deeper and deeper into the 93-year history of the big guy and to get a chance to write nearly every day about him.

There's a bunch of very cool people who have been nominated, many of whom I've been reading and referencing while writing my own work.

You can find the complete list of nominees here. Voting is open for members of the REH Foundation and winners will be announced at Howard Days 2025 in June!
